Yijia Wu is a multidisciplinary artist based in London whose practice explores the paradoxes of everyday life, the shifting notion of home, and the emotional landscapes of migration. Working across performance, sculpture, and installation, she often uses domestic materials to question cultural memory, identity and belonging.
Informed by her experience as a migrant, Yijia reflects on how objects and emotions flow between cultures—offering connection while resisting assimilation. Her work invites viewers to consider the fragility of relationships and the quiet inevitability of separation.
Yijia is currently an artist in residency at the Sarabande Foundation. She graduated from Central Saint Martins with a BA in Fine Art in 2021 and completed her MA in Contemporary Art Practice at the Royal College of Art in 2023.
