Lexi(Jiayu) Duan

Lexi (Jiayu) Duan is a fashion designer and creative performance artist exploring the emotional connections between clothing, memory, and the body. She sees clothing as more than just wearable—it holds emotions and bridges the past and present. Through knitting, weaving, and performative expression, she blurs the boundaries between body and garment, creating pieces that are both functional and emotionally resonant.

Inspired by childhood memories and personal relationships, Lexi’s work redefines “wearability” by merging fashion with furniture. In her latest collection, she combines soft materials like wool and ribbons with metal chair frames, creating multifunctional designs that challenge traditional clothing forms while reflecting on family, memory, and human connection.

Lexi(Jiayu)  Duan began her journey at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York, where she earned an AAS degree in Fashion Design. She then pursued her BA in Knitwear at Central Saint Martins.
